Why I Teach Vedic Astrology(Jyotisha) to Only 3 to 5 Students at a Time
For more than ten years I have sat across from people at the most important moments of their lives. Before a marriage. After a setback in career. In the middle of a decision that would change everything. Over five thousand consultations later, one truth has stayed constant: Jyotish works when it is understood deeply, and it fails when it is learned in fragments.
That is why, when I decided to open The Vedic Astrology Academy, I made one rule that will never change. No batch will ever have more than five students.
The problem with how astrology is taught today
Most astrology courses online are webinars with fifty, a hundred, sometimes two hundred people watching a screen. You cannot ask a question freely. Your chart is never opened in class. You finish with notes, not with skill. Many sincere students come to me after finishing such courses, still unable to read a single chart with confidence.
Jyotish was never taught this way. In the tradition of Guru and Shishya, knowledge passed from one teacher to a few dedicated students, through conversation, correction and practice. The teacher knew each student's chart, each student's strengths, and exactly where each one was getting stuck.
What a class of 3 to 5 students actually feels like
In our Academy, every class is live and virtual, three days a week, one and a half hours per session. Because there are only three to five of you in the room, this is what changes:
Your chart becomes the textbook. From the early weeks, we open the charts of the students themselves. You learn the 7th house by looking at your own 7th house.
You cannot hide, and you will not want to. Every student reads aloud, predicts, makes mistakes and gets corrected in the moment. That correction is where real astrologers are made.
Doubts die the same day they are born. There is no raising your hand in a crowd of a hundred. You simply ask.
I know your progress personally. If you are struggling with dashas in week six, I know it, and we fix it before moving on.
The three levels of the Academy
The Academy is one path in three ascending levels, each with graded assessments, a final viva and a certificate.
Aarambha, the Basic level, runs three months and covers the complete grammar of Jyotish: the signs, the nine planets, the twelve houses, the 27 nakshatras, chart reading and an introduction to the Vimshottari dasha. Fee Rs 31,000.
Praveena, the Advanced level, runs four months and moves into judgement: yogas, divisional charts, dasha mastery, transits, full nakshatra analysis, and a module I am especially proud of on the Soul Planet, the life partner and the prediction of marriage timing. Fee Rs 51,000.
Acharya, the Professional level, runs six months and prepares you for practice: Prashna, Muhurta, Kundali Milan, Ashtakavarga, remedies, the art of consultation and supervised live readings with real clients. Fee Rs 71,000.
Every level includes recordings of all classes, study notes, one year of guidance and support after the course ends, and a certificate that is earned through examination, not attendance.
A word about money, and about scholarships
I price these courses for the seriousness they deserve, because a batch of five students receiving ten hours of my direct attention every month is not a webinar. It is a mentorship.
But I also remember what it is to want knowledge and worry about affording it. So let me say this plainly: if you are sincere about learning Jyotish and you are facing financial difficulty right now, write to me. Scholarship seats and concessions exist in every batch for deserving students. Tell me your situation honestly and we will find a way. No sincere student will be turned away over money alone.
